Grilled hot dog with sauerkraut

In this easy and delicious recipe, we’ll show you how to make a juicy grilled hot dog. With crusty wheat bread, spicy sauerkraut and our delicious Helvetic Barbeque Original Sauce, this hot dog is a real treat.



  1. Preheat the grill and set it to 200 degrees.
  2. Drain the sauerkraut and set aside.
  3. In a cast iron pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until golden brown and soft. Add the sauerkraut and saute for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season to taste with Helvetic Barbeque Salt-n-Pepper Rub.
  4. Place the hot dog sausages on the grill and grill for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until well cooked and with a nice grill mark.
  5. Cut the wheat rolls in half and toast them briefly on the grill until they are slightly crispy.
  6. Place the grilled sausages in the sliced wheat rolls.
  7. Spoon the sauerkraut mixture generously over the sausages.
  8. Pour the delicious Helvetic Barbeque Original Sauce over the hot dog.
  9. Serve the hot dog and enjoy!
