Ingredients:
- 500 g mixed minced meat (beef and pork)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon Helvetic Barbeque Salt-n-Pepper Rub
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- Fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instruction:
- Prepare the smoker and preheat it to a temperature of 180°C. Use charcoal or logs to create the traditional smoky aroma.
- In a large bowl, mix the minced meat, finely chopped onion, crushed garlic, paprika powder, cumin, oregano, Helvetic Barbeque Salt-n-Pepper Rub, olive oil, breadcrumbs and egg.
- Add the finely chopped parsley and knead all the ingredients thoroughly until you have a homogeneous mixture.
- Form long cevapcici (approx. 8-10 cm long) from the minced meat mixture and place them on the grill.
- Place the rack with the cevapcici in the preheated smoker and cook for around 30-40 minutes. Make sure that they are turned regularly so that they cook evenly on all sides and develop a nice smoky crust.
- As soon as the cevapcici are golden brown and cooked through, remove them from the smoker and leave them to rest briefly.
- Serve the cevapcici on a platter with fresh flatbread, onion rings and a spicy ajvar sauce.
